How do i tell my dad i don't want to go back to college?

okay so i started community college fall 08 and Ive been thinking a lot.. i don't enjoy school i never did its just ..not me. my father had to pay out his pocket almost 2,000 dollars ..i couldn't get financial aid so yeah and i don't want him to have to put any more money on something I'm not so positive about

my mother and him are separated shes a state corrections officer and my dads a state trooper k9 handler my other options besides school was to go to the army/marines/navy/air force etc. as a nurse or follow in there directions my father is very successful and to my knowledge makes a great amount of money my mom is on her own living in queens and i never see money being an issue with her

i was thinking ill take the test for corrections do the training and all else. my father did the same started as a correction officer and my mother told me that corrections gives u a two yr degree which is how my dad got his, I'm assuming, but my father is very strict about things i told my mom about this she just laughed and said "your so confused u don't know what u want to be" i just said at "my age its okay to be"

what should i tell my dad and how? school starts back up again in about 2 or 3 weeks what do i do?

oh and i live with my father .i was going to school majoring in photography. i am 18 i have two jobs(retail) no i cant afford college on this salary..just a Little background on me

The first thing you need to do is sit down and write out your options and possible courses of action. Lay out a plan - I know you don't know what you want to do for sure, but honestly, to convince him, I think you need to have a plan of what you will do the next couple of months.

Once you have this written out, tell him you want to discuss your future with him. Do not do this just as he walks in the door. Perhaps you can do it over dinner, if that is a non-stressful time with him. If not, then find a time when he is relaxed, and ask him if you can chat.

Be totally mature and business-like - show him that you have thought about it, and are not ruling out future schooling, just for now you feel it is not the best use of his money since you are so unsure. Show him your plan, talk about it - ask his opinions, but make it clear that ultimately this is your life and he needs to respect your needs - but say it in a respectful way.

Good luck!
