What would cause a 19 yr old girl to have intestinal and digestional problems?

My friend found out today that her intestines is not the way it should be, rather than being "folded" and packed inside it's trying to straighten out, and the reason she's been getting sick after eating is because her digestion is not working. They put her on some meds, and hope it'll solves the problem. She's lost 15 pounds and 1 cup size.

She just broke up with an abusive jackass, and his parting shot was "You're probably dying like your queer dad." She's extremely sensitive about his death since he died from AIDS. Her dad wasn't gay.

She's been tested when several times in her life, but she's well past the 7 year thing (she's 19) and always came up negative for AIDs, and from what I read on the subject, intestinal and digestive problems aren't part of the symptoms.

I don't know if it's related or not to her other problems, but she's been having prblems with cold sores lately. Would any of you happen to know what's going on with my friend? I'm really worried about her, and about how she's letting her jerky ex get to her.

I'm not well-versed on the subject, but do you know anything about her diet and fitness? In any case, I'll be keeping her in my thoughts and prayers, and am glad that she dumped the jerk.

A lot of health issues that can't be explained have cropped up since the over processing of foods...Not with AIDs.

I have heard of her problem before and has absolutely nothing to do with aids, and the cold sores are more than likley because she is run down. My friends dad had aids does not mean you have it also. Good Luckx

I would like to offer some consolation by saying those who try to infer her medical symptoms are 'Aids' related are not only being totally crude & cruel they are totally offering unjustified/uneducated responses. I hope you & your friend recognize such...People can rush toward judgment's as well as preconceptions...Oh my, how terrible indeed ...
I would suggest your friend may indeed be suffering from dietary as well as emotional issues combined...many of us suffer internally via the emotional issues we may be confronted with...Unfortunately, many tend to turn such issues inwardly causing many disruption within the GI system...I suggest you encourage her to seek medical intervention simply to bring forth justification as well as medical intervention~ those of us who learn to internalize emotional & stressful issues often times suffer GI disturbances...this is not unusual...nor is it something to be ashamed of OR afraid of...it is an easy fix once one realizes what is occurring. She is going to be fine. The best thing you can do is take care of your own needs and be available when you can for her. If you take on her issues like this you are playing the part of a rescuer. Believe in her strength and her ability to survive, and don't enable her to feel victimized. In truth the only person this helps is you, because it fills your own life with a distraction that gives you a feeling of being needed and important. While we all need love and acceptance, it takes wisdom to not take it at the price of someone else's helplessness and needy moments. It is a great friend who can empower another by believing in their ability to take care of themselves.
