Our God didn't write it.
So why do people go by what it says?
people seem to sin all they want when it comes to sex
or lying.
but when it comes to gays, people are like "oh thats sin your going to hell!"
I think they just use that as an excuse, because they're homophobic and ignorant and closeminded and misunderstanding.
I don't thing gay is a sin. why would people be born with this condition?
Why would god make his children like this if he wanted it one way.
I think he made gays/lesbians/trasgenders (ect) the way they are beacuse he want to be special people out there who know they don't don't agree with the bible who another man wrote.

bottom line god loves all his children and gay or not and made gay people BORN this way for a reason. To stop IGNORANCE! To all the people who say it was inspired by god. Why would god just make a random person write the bible? Why couldn't jesus just write it?
And to all the people that say "God didn't make gay people", yes, he did im living proof. Believe it or not, I am. Wait, thats just the thing, this world is built up on belive. Every single seemingly anti-homosexuality account in the Bible is in fact linked to idol-worship, prostitution or rape and not two people in a loving relationship. For instance the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah wasn't homosexuality at all, but it was pride because for instance a number of times, the prophets were moved to say that the sins of Jerusalem were as the sins of Sodom, or worse. Does that then mean that the special sin of Jerusalem was homosexual activity? Even my friend's father who is completely anti-gay agrees with that.
Isaiah 3.8,9 "For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judas is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory. The show of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves."
Jeremiah 23.14 "I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah."
The longest love story in the Bible is that between two gay men - David and Jonathan in the book of Samuel, whom God condones and not condemns. Many Christians try to write that story off as a friendship, but the words used to describe their relationship are the exact same words that are used to describe the relationship between a married couple in other parts of the Bible. And that is very important because in the Bible the same word always means the same thing everywhere.
And if they were just friends why would Jonathan's father Saul get so infuriated when Jonathan talks to him about David? Saul says:
1 Sam. 20:30 "Then Saul's anger was kindled against Jonathan. He said to him, 'You son of a perverse, rebellious woman! Do I not know that you have chosen the son of Jesse to your own shame, and to the shame of your mother's nakedness?'"
You have to *really* not want to believe that and turn a blind eye to this story if you are an anti-gay Christian. But the simple fact of the matter is that the only places where the Bible condemns 'homosexuality' is when it is linked to idol worship and paganism, and the only example of a true loving relationship between two men is favoured by God.
Even the famous verse which almost everyone uses to prove that homosexuality is condemned by God (Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.) is yet again something linked with idol worship. Every other verse in that chapter of Leviticus condems a practice which entails idol worship. I learnt from a Jewish person that back in those times there were temples which worshipped idols and some of their rituals were very sexual - in one particular ritual there would be a man who would dress up as a woman and other men would have sexual intercourse with him as a part of their ritual.
Similar rituals still exist today in some tribes, one of the things I study at my university is anthropology, and there are actually tribes on earth where the initiation of young men into adulthood includes an elder having sex with them to 'pass on the fertility'. These are the kinds of behaviour that the Bible warns us against, and not a loving relationship between two men like David and Jonathan or two women.
Being gay is often compared to being a child molester or an alcoholic. A big problem with this is that for instance child molsters don't want to have a loving relationship with that child for the rest of their life, they just go from child to child breaking those children's lives (because they are too young to understand what sex even is) and exploiting them for their own twisted fantasies. Being an alcoholic means being addicted to a substance that not only prevents you from functioning as a normal member of society and brings a lot of pain to a lot of people, but it also damages the body that God gave you beyond repair.
Being gay a gay person who only wants to spend their life with one person who simply happens to be the same gender, through thick and thin, illness and health, if that person gets second degree burns on 90% of their body or gets paralized from the neck down, there is no sin in this, it's called true love. And since God knows exactly what is in your heart he will know whether you are just lusting after someone's flesh or love them for their soul.
I know many people associate being gay with excessive partying, permiscouty and even drugs.. and yes all of those are sins, but many straight people commit those too, and they have nothing to do with simply being gay.
Not all homosexual people are good, not all of them have found Christ, all I am saying is that they will be judged by the exact same criteria straight people are, just the fact that they are gay in itself doesn't mean anything good or bad. The way I see it if you are a gay person who is sleeping around you lead as much of a sinful lifestyle as a straight person sleeping around, but if you are a gay person who only wants to be with one partner like David and Jonathan were, it is the same as being married to an opposite sex parter in which there is no sin.

I agree with you premise to live your life with understanding. We need more people like you.
But you should understand that god was only made known (even though I don't believe in god) through a group of people spreading his existence. Without those people, no one would worship god. So of course many Christians will take the word of the bible as truth. Holymen inspired by the Holy Spirit wrote the Holy Scriptures. remember Christ also knew the Holy Scriptures. As for being discriminating against homosexuals, we dont, we want them to turn away from the sexual lust and trust in Christ to cleanse their hearts from their wicked ways. He alone knows the hearts of everyone of us. And dont homosexuals discriminate against the christians? I always get a tickle when a person takes so much time composing such a poorly written argument to tell Christians that we are stupid and/or ignorant. You are correct that there is a reason God made people gay. You can find it in the book of Romans. And you are correct that we all fail the test. That is why we all need the Lord! God bless! A person's inability to string words into a coherent sentence should not be used as an argument against their position, and irony is not dead. Some folks think the bible IS the word of god. Christians who know the bible also flee from sexual immorality (premarital or postmarital sex), and do not divorce and remarry.. but if they do divorce - you will see them staying single.. no dating or no remarriage ONLY option is to reconcile. God commanded it.
Either we believe or we dont, a picker or a chooser or a hypocrite is a non-believer. what do u want to say by "Condition" is being a gay a "Condition" or in ur words a "Disease"? God has not made Gay or Les....it individuals bringing up...schooling, atmosphere etc that the child is inclined to being gay or lesb. Do not dare to say that God made such people...If he wanted gays and lesb...then he would have made Adam 1 and Adam 2 and then Eve 1 and Eve 2! When a man and woman is united they produce Kids...and what abt Gays and Lesb? I m a catholic and against Gays and Lesb. They are trying to destroy the beauty of Nature thats it This question doesn't even make any sense. You went to school, didn't you? You learned math, science, English, etc.? You learned them from books that someone else wrote, didn't you? Of course! What difference does it make whether or not someone else wrote it? That is irrelevant to the validity of the Bible.
What is more, I refute the idea that the Bible is explicitly against homosexuality. Yes, there are verses in it that are anti-gay, but they are few and are contained in very specific contexts in which the Hebrews (and later early Christians) were in a battle for survival in a land where they were a minority. Setting themselves aside from other cultures that endorsed homosexuality helped them create a common identity and encourage necessary procreation. Outside of that context, there is not a thing in the Bible that even mentions homosexuality.
So although I support your basic position on homosexuality and ignorance, I would advise you to work on your own ignorance, too. Study the Bible yourself and understand it before you criticize, and avoid perpetuating stereotypes of other people. That is exactly what the sort of Christian you are railing against does. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Homosexuality is a choice, not a birth defect. Homosexuality is not the only sin and all of us are born with a sin nature. The truth of God's word is revealed through faith by the Holy Spirit...Those who love and seek the truth receive a gift form God called faith...it is through faith we receive revelation and through revelation we beign a personal relationship with God..Those who love the truth will find him. well to me the bible is gods word and even though he didnt actually write his discples did and they were with jesus all throuhout the bible and the old testament is written by similar people who were told by god to write it down
and i dont say that homosexuals will go to hell no one but god has the right to say that , gay peopleare still human and god still loves them God didn't make anyone gay. God loves all of His children, why would He make any one of them contrary to Him? He wouldn't, it doesn't make any sense.
And your theory about Him wanting them to be "special", by making them "gays/lesbians/transgenders (ect)". That makes no sense either. Because as far as God is concerned, all of us are already special.

Preachers are not the [most heavenly] people out there. People like you put them up so high they get nose bleeds. Preachers are just ordinary people, they say stupid things too, and make mistakes.
These successful people you're talking about, Hollywood, actors and the like. Are you serious? These people are worshiping spaceships. You are aware of that, right?
I haven't heard the one about AIDS being a gay disease since the 80's. So that ones a surprise to me.
And yes, God does love [all] of His children. It doesn't matter if they are gay or not. The problem is this. He cannot look upon sin. And as long as someone is living in sin, God cannot look upon that person. Until they pray the prayer of salvation and ask for forgiveness, God does not hear them.
If you'd read the Bible, you'd be aware of these things. Please, arm yourself with the facts. Read the Bible before you point the finger again. That way you can stop the ignorance. wow that's about 10 questions and I can't remember them all. God does want us to keep our zippers zipped except with our spouse. That's in our best interest. No cheating. No disease. No heartbreak.
Preachers don't measure their success in dollars. Faithful Christians don't either. We are happy to have our basic needs met. It's not ignorant. It's genius! The more you give away, the more is returned to you. But we give away money because we love to give to any needs.
The Bible WAS certainly written by God. He told the writers what to write. It is all true and holy.
I don't know if AIDS is a punishment or not. Having sex with the same sex is a sin, but one of many many sins. I have committed many sins myself. But they are all forgiven. I can go to heaven because those whose slate is wiped clean may enter there. No one can go to Heaven unless they accept the pardon of Jesus Christ's blood.
Christians do love all people. If they don't they are not really a Christian. Short answer, because those religions believe that the humans who actually put pen to paper were caused to do so and were controlled by god - so that the content of their writing was the content desired by god.
At the time of writing, particularly for the passages to which you refer, the Jewish people were a small set of relatively small tribes, beset on all sides by enemies of a variety of kinds. They previously had worshipped in their temple, where their god was believed physically and actually to reside. After that temple's destruction, they needed a way for their god to reside still with the tribes - and so they wrote of ways to make your house or yourself into the 'temple' within which their god could now live. So, they wrote of rules that individuals and households could follow so as to emulate the temple. Not unnaturally, they wanted a way for their way of life to continue - during times of war, of exile, of servitude; to continue until the temple could be rebuilt (the 'Kingdom of God' return) and their people could be reunited so that their god could return.
