Genetal herpes && our relationship?

i went to the doctor on thursday && they told me i have what LOOKS like genetal herpes. [[i have to wait for my test results which i get back tomorrow]]
my boyfriend got tested on friday morning. but he got tested without his blood being taken for it. his blood was taken for hiv aids.
but what im asking is can he be a carrier still? is the only way of knowing through blood?
is it still possible that i may not have this.

How did he test negative if he wasn't having an outbreak and he didn't take a blood test for it???

your question is kind of unclear.. are you saying your boyfriend has herpes and are you asking if you have it?

if he has herpes,he has the virus for the rest of his life, so if you are having sex with him often then you most likely have it as well. herpes will never go away, the breakouts might... but it lives in you forever

Then he's not the one that gave it you to. You got it from someone else.

There is antiviral medication you can take so the breakouts aren't frequent and the spread to him minimal. I'm taking it and haven't had any breakouts. My bf is fine with it. He won't get tested so I don't know if I got it from him or not.

If your boyfriend has herpes, you should both talk to your doctor. He will prescribe something that will help you not catch the virus. you also have to realize that once you have herpes, it never goes away. And make sure to always use a condom.

umm the other way of knowing is if he has an outbreak!..u could be a carrier 4 ages and not no about it
