No period yet?? I need your help!! Please.?

Okay, so my girlfriend and I were sexually active in January, the last time we had sex was on Jan. 24. She ended her last period on Jan. 1st. It started getting close to time for her period to come, and for some reason we began to get worked up and started the whole stressing out/ worrying thing. We have done this before and her period was a little late, we think because of stress. We were really stressing this time, I don't really know why, we used a condom and had no mishaps (Thank God).

The worrying got to the point where she took a hpt, and it came back negative. She had a few cramps one or two days, and peed a lot. We thought her period was coming around. She had no signs/symptoms of pregnancy, but we were still worried.

We finally decided to tell her mom she hadn't had her period yet. She was really really tore up about it by now. She had a blood serum test done, and it came back negative also this was 5 days after the last time we had sex.

She still hasn鈥檛 started her period yet. First of all, she is notorious for getting headaches, I personally think she gets migraines; they usually make her sick sometimes. Well, last night she got a headache around 12ish and said it was making her feel a little sick. Around this area, the stomach virus has been going around, and she had ate some sort of sandwich and like 2 orders of fries from Hardees restaurant. She had also talked about drinking some Kool-aid that was really sweet before that. This hasn鈥檛 been an everyday thing, that鈥檚 why I鈥檓 not really worried about it.

She woke up this morning, and took another hpt. It was negative (Thank God). Today was 12 days after the last (protected) sexual intercourse.

What do you think? Has all of that stress/ worrying caused her period to be delayed? She still hasn't had it yet. I forgot to mention, we hadn't been very sexually active for a while, and just started back in January.

She is in her teens. She had irregular period when she first started, then she got put on Birth Control. She began to be regulated so she was taken off. We have been dating for 7 months, and she hasn't been on the pill, but her periods usually come every 28-30 days, and she usually goes for about 5 days.

How do you induce your period?

Stress and changing hormonal levels are HUGE factors in menstrual cycles. I didn't have mine for over 4 months once due to stress. She shouldn't worry!

just go buy a pregnancy test and see.

My goodness, that's a detailed question...how should we know? Stop obsessing...get on with your lives and always use protection....

A lot of detail but absolutely nothing that could actually help us answer the question, I鈥檓 going to guess that she is in her teens in which case it is normal for periods to be irregular due to her body still developing. Stress will also delay menstruation, now you don鈥檛 actually say how long her cycles are or how regular she is, but either way there doesn鈥檛 seem to be anything to worry about so as the other person said stop obsessing and get on with your lives.

The obvious questions are;
Has she taken emergency contraception?
Has she tried inducing her periods?

Tests are all well and good, but they wouldn鈥檛 be able to tell you if she was pregnant or not so early on, also depending on her cycle she may not have even been ovulating, remember that women can only get pregnant while ovulating and a few days beforehand while fertile cervical mucus is present. That means there are only a few days per cycle she can get pregnant, so you only have a 25% chance of her getting pregnant per cycle. I would like to point out that safe sex is about more than using a condom, you should always be using protection but make sure that you are doing more to protect against infections, diseases and unwanted pregnancy than using condoms, I don鈥檛 just mean using another form of birth control (to be honest most of the time I鈥檇 advise against that, depending on the situation and type of birth control being used, condoms are enough) but I mean general common sense. Now if you are panicking THIS much without there actually being anything to panic about then I can only assume that you are not ready to be a father, so perhaps you should reconsider being sexually active in that case.

You should ask a doctor. I actually just went threw this same thing. Except it took my period a month late to come. I was SOO scared. But it eventually came. My periods are always right on time to. So i guess idk what caused it to be a month late. If it doesn't come soon i would ask a doctor. But i doubt she is pregnant.
