Small boil/pimple in my groin?

about a half inch below my belt line on the left side of my groin is a medium sized pimple/ boil. its red with a little red around it. could this be an std. which would it be. if i wear a condom during sex i would assume i could transfer it because the condom wouldn't cover it but what if i wore a big waterproof band aid. wouldn't that be the same as a condom?
could i ask my pediatrician to test me for stds?
i am 16 and a virgin if that makes a difference.

if it is on your pubic region it is more than likely not an STD unless you have had un protected sex. Do you shave? If you shave it could be an ingrown hair.
