The Pakistan government is very weak. If they don't appease the extremists in their country, they risk being toppled, they have a walk a delicate line between being friends with the US and friends with the extremists. Right now there is already suicide bombings and terror inside their country, their country is close to civil war. So how you can say that McCain could have done any better is beyond me. Besides the US military is controlled by Republicans in Obama's cabinet. Explain that, in light of your question ?

Besides bringing in Wall Street strikeout artists to run the economy, Obama has basically continued with the same security team from the last administration.

You got to accept something. The US is a shadow of what it was before. Economically and militarily. The world sees this. That's what allows a Chavez the gall to bad mouth the president (Bush) right in his own country. It's like he went to Bush's Crawford home and pissed on his rug.
