What should i do if my audiologist? |
i am 24 i've had a hearing loss since birth. i hear normally in my right ear i have an 80% loss in my left. i havent worn hearing aids since i was 15. i stopped wearing them in high school because i found it too uncomfortable and embarassing. high school is understandable to not want to wear them. i still made the dean's list when i was in college. i was embarassed because not many people my age have a hearing loss. none of my cousins have the problem. i'm the only child. my mom keeps encouraging me to wear them now i may not have a choice since i'm looking for a job. i may not be happy about wearing them. sometimes when u have a problem there are certain things u have to do even if u don't want to. i'm nervous about getting my hearing test. what do i do if the audiologist suggest a hearing aid? your mom is right. you should get the hearing aids. it's gonna change your life for the better. i wear 2 bte's myself with a severe loss in my left and moderate in my right ear. being a 32 old guy i was quite embaressed when i got my first set a year ago- girls and all.... people stare at my hearing aids all the time, but that's just part of life i guess. having better hearing is priceless. go for it. |
