My male math teacher is very friendly, it's extremely uncomfortable..?

He is an unmarried middle aged italian man.
There are rumors going around that he was suspended from coaching
girls basketball and that he arranged a date for a student
with his nephew, and went along.
He always wants to shake my hand and do those "pound it" things.
When he comes over to help me, he leans in[ breaking personal space], sometimes takes the pencil out of my hand, answers questions ON A TEST for me, if i did them wrong, like he rewrites it for me! and he jokingly hits me in the head with paper. He has hugged and he puts his hand on my back
and rubs. He talks about personal issues, like i missed school for a funeral and he seems like he cares. If i make a face, like an eyebrow raise at him, he'll go oooh i like that face. He also seems to have a preference for girls and girl student aids and he lets students [mainly the girls dance team] leave their equipement in his room. When the girls perform, i see him watching them very closely. When i wore a semi revealing shirt, i saw him looking at my chest, i always zip up now. I SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO WEAR A TANK IN CLASS!
I dont want to go to math class anymore. This is a huge issue now,
bothering a lot of girls in my grade [ 9] and up to grade 12.
I can hardly concentrate in class anymore.
HELP?!

Rumors are rumors and nothing more.

Let me see if I understand this correctly:

1. He tries to be nice and relate to you, hence 'pound'

2. If he is Italian (from Italy) they have a differing personal space, why are you assuming everyone is like you.

3. He helps you to do better in the classroom, even on a test? This is a problem, why? A test is a teaching tool.

4. He, as a joke, hits in the head. Trying to be nice and fun.

5. I personally would not hug a student, male or female.

6. Jokes about an 'odd' face, which may be trying to get you to ask a question as you may have one.

7. He shows a personal intrest into students and is not just there for the paycheck.

8. He has female student aides assigned to him? Even if he choose his aides, did any guys apply?

9. He is kind an allows a team to leave the equipment in his room so it is safe.

10. Takes an intrest in a student sports team.

11. you wear something to show off your body and then you get upset when someone notices? Girls (and guys) at my school cannot wear tanks.

Other then the hugs. Sounds normal. Sounds like a good teacher. Remember the more negative you look at for this teacher the more negative you will see.

If he was a woman and did as you described, would you react the same way? Would you think your woman teacher was gay? Give the guy a break. If you are wearing low revealing outfits to school, not only the male students in your class are going to look at you, so will the male teachers. If you are that uncomfortable, see your guidance counselor and switch classes.

I would get a few of your friends who this also is a problem for, and tell your parents! Its not right if you feel this way, no one should have to feel like that! You should say something before he lets himself do anything he may be thinking about. Tell your parents! If you dont feel like you can tell them, get that same group of girls and tell your guidance counselor!

His behavior is definitely out of line, and as it's bothering a lot of girls it's obviously not your imagination running wild. I'm advising you each go to your parents, and then your counselors to let them know what he's doing and ask to be transferred out of his classes, which will make them have to take action. Also, the school and the district will take this information much more seriously when they know that parents are aware and it is coming independently from many different girls.

You deserve to have a comfortable atmosphere to learn in, and this isn't it. Refuse to be intimidated, be strong and stand up to him!

it seems strange to be more mature than your teacher but you obviously know how you feel about this guy and you can't allow him to make you uncomfortable. tell someone (anonymously if you like) that his behavior is distracting, that way if/when you defy him and he calls you out (like if you tell him not to touch you and he gives you a bad grade) then you have already told someone who can be impartial. this happened at my high school with the algebra teacher and the soccer coach so it isn't like you are imagining it. some adults think young girls seek too much attention but I promise this is not your fault and you should be allowed to wear whatever you want without being uncomfortable with a teacher. be firm and tell him how you feel about his advances and that you will not tolerate that kind of attention.

I suggest you keep your distance, don't make too much eye-contact during class, and seem as independent as possible in the classroom. If this doesn't work, and if he keeps touching you that way, you HAVE to tell someone. It's not normal, and it's not right. And you know that, obviously, so you should tell someone because chances are that he is doing that to a lot of girls in all of his classes.

It has gotten to the point where you can't concentrate, it is affecting your grade and your learning. I suggest you speak with an administrator about this. It has happened to me before.

Talk to your parents about this and maybe a school councillor. Shaken hands is a normal thing you'll have to do with a lot of different people the "pound it" thing is just trying to be cool (he is getting old and he deals with young people everyday) when he leans in closethat'ss kinda creepy and looking at you chest is gross (only because hes much older than you) when he says he likes that face I think hes trying to be sarcastic and the other stuff is kinda a weird but maybe he has good intentions. but if you want this to stop without offending anyone talk to another adult and tell them how you feel they might be able to talk with him and not make it seem like your the one saying this stuff. There nothing worse than being pin pointed for something it can make a situation feel very uncomfortable.
