How come a lot of people wouldnt want to know if their spouse cheated?

I know i would because i would want to get tested for std's plus so i could get divorced because if you give them another chance that giving them another chance to do it again and there is no way i would want to be made a fool of more then once.

If you wouldn't want to know then your health is in jeopardy because he/she could bring home an incurable disease like aids and you wouldn't know to be able to get treated and maybe live longer.

I agree with you, however, some people think what they don't know won't hurt them. I think in some cases they might suspect but for various reasons they choose to ignore it. Not my way of thinking!

That's the thing that some people just don't want to deal with. Some are simply desperate to hold on to ANYbody. It beats being lonely.

To be honest, a lot of people understandably want to know the truth but simply can't HANDLE the truth.

So people lie. To not hurt someone's feelings, to get what they want, to avoid drama or delay paying the consequences.

In the end, it's a matter of trust, and truly getting to know who you get busy with. And a lot of people don't take the time or have the energy to really get to know anybody anymore, the rules are more relaxed and the social pressure has changed to "being proud to be a virgin" to "embarrassed to be a virgin at 18".

Everyone has differing opinions on this subject, obviously. The last question that I personally answered, stated that "if he used protection and it was one time would you want to know?" I answered in that circumstance, that I don't think I'd want to know, ignorance is bliss......

There are a lot of reasons for not wanting to know. Some good, some not. Easier? Not having to second guess your partners every move? Not to mention the hurt and betrayal. If they are going to do it again, guess what, they WILL be caught.

If it truly was a one time mistake, which we are all capable of making, telling the one they love only serves to lessen their guilt, and hurt the one they profess to love more than anything.

I do not think that my husband cheats but I still get checked every year at the doctors for STD's. It is what she recommends and I do go to her for medical advise so I follow what she says.

I'd want to know ASAP.

It's not fair to be in a relationship if the other person isnt as serious about it as you. I don't care if it was a "one time thing" or not.

Yeah definitely "Ignorance is bliss". Some people think that if you "turn the other cheek" then it really isn't cheating. Some people are stupid. I'd wanna know....

It's probably because they are in denial its like they will never get cheated on...... and probably for the fact that he/she dont even mind.
