What should I do about this situation?

I dated my first real boyfriend for almost two years. After having the ''talk'' with my mom about sex she stressed how important it was to protect yourself and partner and be tested. I agreed with my mom and for the sake of it I was tested, I tested positive for everything but tests showed I was exposed to HSV-2 but did not contract it. So anyways when it came to my boyfriend he claimed he was tested at his school (which he was but only for AIDS) he refused to be tested until I threatened to break it off with him, after that he was tested. When the test results came back for him he was positive for herpes HSV-1 & HSV-2. My mom obviously freaked out and said he must of known he had something and that he was a scum bag and that he almost ruined me because I was a virgin and it goes on. I broke up with him well over a month ago and we don't communicate with each other, but I really love and miss him even though I'm mad and want to hate him. I think because he was my first and first real boyfriend I'll always remember him. But I want to call him but I dunno what to do?? I'm so mad at my mom for not understanding that I still care for him, but do I have right to be upset with her when her intentions are good?

Yes oh my is what I'm thinking

okay... well if you tested for hsv and were negative for hsv-1 but it showed you exposed to hsv-2 that means you have hsv-2. Because the test obviously picked up that you have antibodies to hsv-2. so this means you have hsv-2. but you can go on in your life without ever experiencing symptoms, 90% of the people with herpes will never show symptoms.

now almost everyone in their life will be exposed to hsv-1. but the difference to being exposed to and having something can be tricky. say you meet someone and they kiss you then a week later you see that person has a coldsore, but you test a few months down the road and test negative for hsv-1, this will mean you were exposed to it, but you did not contract it.

so i think you need to get tested again and if it shows you have antibodies to hsv-2 this means you do indeed have hsv-2. yes you were exposed, but you also contracted it. if you go and get a hiv test they can't say well the test says you were exposed but you dont have it, its not possible.

alot of doctors will beat around the bush and say oh you havent had an outbreak so this means you don't have it. that is completely FALSE. doctors the majority of the time will tell people time and time again they don't have herpes, but in reality they really do. herpes is usually commonly mistaken for yeast infections. so the doctor will give them medicine for a yeast infection when in reality its herpes.

you have a right to any emotion that you are feeling at any moment... maybe since its your mother you should find a nice way of saying it or talking to her about how you feel. tell her you understand why she freaked out, but remind her that you have a heart and mind too.. and you have the right to express how you feel...

Oh my.
