I still love my ex but what should I do about this situation? |
I dated my first real boyfriend for almost two years. After having the ''talk'' with my mom about sex she stressed how important it was to protect yourself and partner and be tested. I agreed with my mom and for the sake of it I was tested, I tested positive for everything but tests showed I was exposed to HSV-2 but did not contract it. So anyways when it came to my boyfriend he claimed he was tested at his school (which he was but only for AIDS) he refused to be tested until I threatened to break it off with him. When the test results came back he was positive for herpes HSV-1 & HSV-2. My mom obviously freaked out and said he was a scum bag and that he almost ruined me because I was a virgin and it goes on. I broke up with him well over a month ago and we don't communicate with each other, but I really love and miss him even though I'm mad. I want to call him but I dunno what to do?? Tough situation. Unless you want to contract those diseases move on. If your love for him goes past those barriers then talk to him. I wouldn't. He's a waste of your time and you could end up suffering by catching a disease that is not curable. Guess what happens then? No man that doesn't have a STD himself, that knows you have it, will never want to sleep with you. It's true. Is it worth being discriminated against constantly and sacrificing your health to be with a boy that you will not end up dating 20 years from now? the fact that he refused to be tested shows that he knew that he had something and he didn't care about your safety, even though you miss him its probably better that you don't get into a relationship with him again just be friends. I think you should just get with him but do not have sex! I mean my mother always freaks about those things. Talk about it with your mom. She should probably trust you since you did what she told you. But anyway like i said talk. Sometimes we love some-one, or something That dude has herpes...screw that. I know its hard to let go of someone you love (been there, done that...got the T-shirt) but there's someone else out there you could love...without herpes. He didn't love you. He was willing to harm you and did it. You may love him, though I can't understand how, but he will never love you. How very good of your mom to be open and honest about sexuality with you - you are very lucky - there are a lot of parents who are very uptight and uncomfortable about discussing sex with their children. |
