What can I use to help me jump from heights without injuring myself?

Imagine you are standing on a pillar 10 meters high. you aren't going to fall, but the only way down is to jump, or in other words leave the pillar via your own means, so you can anticipate your movement.

Now when you land, you are landing on a solid floor. not rocky or anything, just solid, like maybe a typical Gym floor. You are allowed anything you want to aid your landing.

For example, maybe a thin layer of spongey material in the base of your shoes might help, but what about the knee? I have scowered the internet looking for some form of shock absorber or support, but no luck :'(

So can anyone devise a theoretical or even tried and tested method of landing from such a height relatively unscathed? Preferably the method would be easy to transport in everyday life, already equipped, with little or no reset.

and before anyone asks, no I'm not about to go diving off buildings for the hell of it xD leave that to the pros, I'm just interested in the physics of it all from an ameteur level.

Sorry. maybe I did misclarify abit. It's a purely hypothetical situation.

if you anticipate the need to get down from your pillar, then you can consider either the ladder that got you up there in the first place or one of those pole vaulter mats or a whole host of other options...

clearly, i'm not sure what problem you're trying to solve here.

it seems you're assuming that you got onto your pillar without any idea about how you were going to get down afterwards... and hence - is this really a realistic scenario for someone that realizes that falling from a height can hurt?

generally, one is better off by planning the entire exercise in advance (getting up and getting down).

edit: o.k. it's hypothetical.. a magical force placed you on a pillar but still gave you the ability to direct minions to place some specific kind of padding below you after you were up there?

does this question have any real-world application at all?

you could just direct your minions to get one of those pole vaulter cushions, or call the fire dept who'll use that thing they use to try to break falls from people in building fires...
