I have 2 major questions concerning college?

I applied to the local university, Columbus State University, located in Columbus, GA. I'm not sure if the school is too well known but my GPA was a 2.7, my major is Early Childhood, they've sent me postcards, and letters with my student ID on it, and student email address, so does that mean I'm kind of in? I am beyond stressed out. I take my ACT test next Saturday and I think they stop taking applications for Fall maybe the last part of July. The financial aid department also sent me a letter in the mail asking for my mother and I tax return, and a dependent verification worksheet.(????) so I'm confused. I really want to go to CSU its a good school, and will get me ready to transfer to another school down the future.

My second question is I applied for the Pell grant and my efc was 000* that's why the financial aid department asked for all the worksheets I'm guessing. So will that cover my tuition? My tuition for the whole academic year is $4, 216.00 I'm also trying to stay in the dorms even though I live in the same city because we live in a small house and my sister and her baby have to sleep on the couch and I would like to give my room to them the total cost of the dorm and food is 7,900 a year.
Will finical aid be enough for all that please help me!

Let's see if we can get some of your questions answered.

First of all - I can't be sure whether you have been admitted or not. You mention that you are taking the ACT on Saturday - is this the first time you have taken the test, or are you taking it a second time, trying to improve your score?

The reason I ask is because CSU requires either ACT scores of 20 English and 19 Math or an SAT score of 490 Critical Reading and 460 Math.

"An applicant who has fewer than 30 semester hours of transferable credit from a regionally accredited college or university must submit either an official SAT score report produced by the College"

If you haven't taken either of those exams yet, then I don't think it's likely that you could have received your full admission yet. I found a place on the school's Admissions page where it says:

"Official consideration is given to an application only after all credentials are received."

One of those "credentials" would be your test score(s).

The email address that they sent you is probably a log-in account for this site: http://cougarnet.colstate.edu/cp/home/lo... , where all applicants can check their application status. That's where you should go, tonight. Log in (left side of the page), then click on the enrollment information tab for more information.

To be very honest, I'm a little worried for you - here's why:

"Admission credentials must be filed on or before May 1st for fall semester, November 1st for spring semester, and March 15th for summer term."

Listen - I'm going to STRONGLY recommend that you contact the admissions office tomorrow. The number is (706) 507-8800. This is the type of question that the admissions staff gets all the time, so you shouldn't feel at all embarrassed to ask them.

Just say "Hey, I'm totally confused. Have I been accepted, or what do I need to do at this point to complete my file?"

Good luck to you - I hope the news is good. Once you find out about that - then you can worry about the financial aid issues.
