Guardasil.. or no Guardasil?

Almost a year ago.. my doctor told me that I came in contact with someone who had HPV and that i had one of the worst strands that are out there. Im really not sure of the number, but they wanted me to get a preliminary AIDS test just to be sure (i didn't get that yet).. But my doctor said i should have the guardasil shot.. I am Just NOW hearing of all the bad things that it has done to people.. and I know it won't make my HPV go away... but should i get it?? or rather.. Should i get it because I am a high risk hpv??
And also... is it true that HPV, given about 2 years.. sometimes
clears up on its own??
I have no warts/gential stuff going on.. i feel fine.. I've been sick a few times but my body has always beat it... What do you think? what would you do??

1) http://thehpvvirus.blogspot.com/2009/02/...

2) HPV virus has more than 130 different strains! about 40 of them causes genital warts and some of them causes cervical cancer!
3) you should get tested on HPV to know - which strain of HPV virus you have! is it the one that causes warts or and cervical cancer!
4) anyway as every woman you need to do pap smear every ~6 months
5) HPV is the virus that causes genital warts. People can be infected with HPV and never show any symptoms. Others will develop genital warts. These warts can stay the same size, grow, or go away on their own. It largely depends on the infected person's immune system. A healthy immune system means your body may be able to suppress the virus and not show symptoms.

Even after the warts go away, the person will always remain infected with HPV. That person can spread the virus even without showing symptoms.

SO!

1) no Guardasil!
2) regular pap smear
3) build up your immune system
4) relax! :)

also you should know that :
a) HPV is not genetic, it's usually passed by skin contact when the baby comes through the birth canal when the mother has an out break of genital warts. After that baby can have mouth or/and throat warts...
There are things that can be done to prevent genital warts from being passed on when the mother gives birth. Such as having a c-section if there is an out break at the time of delivery. So if you do not have any outbreaks - then no need to do c-section!

b) almost 80% of all people will get HPV virus in their lives!

Since Gardasil is a vaccine and not a treatment, I'm not sure why anyone would recommend that you get the shots, since you already have the virus. It won't do you any good.

Why would your doctor be informing you that someone you came into contact with had HPV? That sounds odd. Also, HPV and AIDS/HIV are unrelated. Are you saying that this doctor told you someone you've been with has HPV and HIV? Well, they can't do that. There are privacy laws in place that prevent a healthcare worker from sharing that kind of info with you.

So basically, I'm confused by your question. If you don't have HPV, get the Gardasil shots. If you do, be honest with all sexual partners in your future and take steps to protect them. If you may have been exposed to HIV, get a test for that.
