Drug testing the sick and injured?

Last July I suffered a pulled muscle while at work. After the injury I was having a hard time breathing and pain in my left arm, so I was sent to first aid for treatment. While there they told me I was fine, just a little dehydrated. Then I was informed my boss requested a drug and alchol test. I passed both, but had much difficulty with the breathalizer (SINCE I WAS HAVING DIFFICULTY BREATHING). It really boths me that they were more concerned with finding a legitimate reason to fire, which they tried anyway. Then they were with my health. My union was suppose to take it downtown, but now they informed me I should have taken it myself. Is there anything I can do to keep the company from doing this to someone else and who do I contact? Thanks in advance for all advice.

I doubt you can prevent it, they were just documenting that it was work related injury, nothing caused by you. Your boss was protecting you, not trying to fire you!

Companies can give random drug testing at will, so I doubt you could legitiamately say it is not appropriate after an injury.
