Just in case you weren't feeling too old today, this will certainly change things. Each year the staff at BeloitCollege in Wisconsin puts together a list to try to give the faculty a sense of the mindset of this year's incoming freshmen. Here's this year's list:
The people who are starting college this fall across the nation were born in 1985. They are too young to remember the space shuttle blowing up.
Their lifetime has always included AIDS.
Bottle caps have always been screw off and plastic.
The CD was introduced the year they were born.
They have always had an answering machine.
They have always had cable.
They cannot fathom not having a remote control.
Jay Leno has always been on the Tonight Show.
Popcorn has always been cooked in the microwave.
They never took a swim and thought about Jaws.
They can't imagine what hard contact lenses are.
They don't know who Mork was or where he was from.
They never heard: "Where's the Beef?", "I'd walk a mile for a Camel" or "de plane Boss, de plane."
They do not care who shot J. R. and have no idea who J. R. even is.
McDonald's never came in Styrofoam containers.
They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter.
Pass this on to the other old fogies on your list. Notice the larger type? That's for those of you who have trouble reading the smaller print!
c This is great!
I am sharing it with everyone tomorrow for leap day!!

LOL! I love it!! when i was born, Truman was president, lol. so yes, a lot of this rings true. Funny thing is, I am only fourteen and I still really appreciated and understood that!
I know who JR is and I can live without a remote
The thing is, a lot of kids, like myself, pick up on most of these things, i still really appreciate the past and all of the years before 1985 ( i was born in 1993)
so, i found this really interesting! more funny than anything :) ha but give us kids some credit...we dont just sit around in front of a tv eating microwave popcorn watching jay leno... i find popcorn in a pan exciting! and i still use cassettes! So yeah, just wanted to put my opinion out there :) ha i am still cutting my hair short lolz
my mom makes me watch all the old tv shows
she makes sure i know about johnny carson and i know who shot J.R
i know about styrofoam containers at mcdonalds
i can use a typewriter
i heard all about "wheres the beef" "de plane boss the plane"
and all that stuff!!!
okay almost all of it i cant swim and i havent watched jaws but everything else my mom makes me watch and do so i never forget the times
HA AND I'M 13!!! I was born in 86 and i rember everything you said i didn't get to live the middle class lifestyle we were always living 15 years behind others i didn't see a remote until i was 10 a CD until i was 13 and don't get me started on cable or the microwave, i had nightmares about jaws, contact lenese huh?, robbin williams -planet ork, If i could stuff the beef in the mouth of that old lady i would. jay leno replaces johnny carson in 92 get it right, and as for typewriter where do you think i learned to type. I can imagine this question asked in 30 years what would it say. Not many people my age comprehend how fast life goes by we will reach that age sooner rather than later. since I'm barely 30 (positive mental attitude), here goes:
