Teachers aid?

I am trying to become a teachers aid here in the U.S. . I am German and don't have any american degree . Now I have to take a test . Are there any books that can help me prepare for it ?

What state are you in? I know is Texas they have become a lot stricter with hiring and retaining teacher aids. With No Child Left Behind teachers and teacher aids are having to prove that they are "highly" qualified. As far as what book you should get it depends on what state you are in. Every state has different rules and laws as far as education....
You probably need a book that helps you develop an understanding of the public school system, observe and study the development patterns of students. You should be able to describe administrative structure and organization in public schools, outline proven strategies for instructional delivery and evaluation, and explain primary behavioral and learning patterns of K-12 students.
You might be able to find a prep book for that test....all the teacher certification tests in Texas have pdf prep books you can download.

Your local public library offers many resources so go to the one near you and take advantage of all the free information. Good Luck to you.

Ask the Board of Education where you will be working with. They can give you a list of books.
