Should intellectually accelerated students with ADD have special needs? |
Do you think peole who are smart with ADD need special needs such as time or an aid when it comes to taking tests? I have it, and it gets really hard sometimes to take a test/read to concentrate well, but I have a high IQ, so do you think smart peole with ADD should have the same rights as an intellectually challenged person with it? My opinion is that any person with ADD may need aids, especially when it comes to stressful situations such as taking a test. In order to truly demonstrate what you know you might certainly need extra time or other allowances. That would not be unusual. I think you qualify for a 504. This is kinda like special ed IEPs. If a student has ADD, then he has accomadations. Ask the LEA or someone at the school...maybe the guidance coun. One measure of learning dissabilitys impact is the discrepancy between IQ and Performance if you are smarter and strugaling that thair is a greter gap thus a grater need |
