Has anyone's cat died from FIP?? |
Last night I had to make the difficult decision to put my kitten to sleep. We took him to the vet but they didnt really know what was wrong with him. It happened all of a sudden. One minute he was walking fine and the next, he's on the floor unable to move. They tested him for luekemia and Feline Aids but they came back negative. They said the only other thing it may be is FIP. Even if the test came back negative, it didnt look good for him. He wasnt responding to treatment. He was so weak, he couldnt even lift his head. Last night as I held him and said my last goodbyes he purred so loud. And then I held him in my arms as he went to sleep... i have never had a cat die from this disease although i have heard of it and that it is common in younger cats especially kittens. i am sorry for your loss and the pain and anguish youve had to go through its one of the worst feelings having to make that kind of decision im so sorry Last week my sisters kitten did the same. He was fine then when we got back from the store he couldn't even stand. We didn't even make it to the car. Did your kitten throw up? I'm still not sure why this happened to my cat. I'm taking my other one into the vet tomarrow to be on the safe side. Sorry for your loss I know what your feeling. |
