STD (chlamydia) how did I get if...? |
I was tested in Oct. for aids and STD's and had a pap smear and all that. Everything was fine. My husband is in the military and is frequently tested. Today the nurse called me to come in and talk to the doctor about my abnormal pap results. That is all she said. When I called back she divulged that my pap results are pending it is actually to talk to my about testing positive for chlamydia!! I have not been unfaithful and I know my husband hasn't so please I am not wanting to hear that he gave it to me. Has anyone been positive, re-tested, and been ok? Could the results be wrong or mixed up with something else they haven't discovered??? my doctor and previous doc suspect me of endometriosis--could this complicate the results or anything because symptoms are similar...? Are you so sure you're husband's been "faithful"? You might want to look into that. I know it's painful to even entertain the thought of a partner straying, but people aren't perfect. You deserve to know and should demand to know what he's been up to because he can put _your_ health at risk, which is very thoughtless and irresponsible. I wouldn't panic yet. Talk to you Dr. first and find out how it could possibly happen if neither of you have been unfaithful. yes chlamydia can lie dormant for years and an infected person can have no symptoms at all, however a typical symptom for women is a small bleed after sex, dont worry take the anti-biotics they give you, tell you husdband they'll give him some too, its very common did you share something ummm like a toy one night with another person you dont know very well? just trying to look at all the possibilities with out dragging hubby into this. i bet you are just all worked up over a little mistake and all will be just fine. Chlamydia can be very damaging to your fallopian tubes because of the inflammation. It can cause scarring that leads to ectopic pregnanies and infertility. It is serious and it IS a big deal! It can lay dormant in people too, so its hard to say how you got it; but any rate, your hubby needs to be tested too so he doesn't pass it back to you. The nurse didn't want to leave a message for you with sensitive information, and they also prefer that the doctor give you the information you need in the office, and not scare the crap out of you over the phone. It has nothing to do with endometriosis. They can re-test you if you think it is a mix up. A friend of mine had something similar happen to her, |
