Could I be pregnant after a tubal ligation?

Okay, So I got my tubes tied 4 1/2 years ago when my son was born. My boyfriend and I have a pretty active sex life but up until Christmas we always used protection. We discussed the fact that I had my tubes tied and decided that it made no sense to be "overly protected" as we are exclusive (both tested for everything before sleeping together) and I shouldn't be able to conceive right now (as a matter of fact I have an appointment to reverse the tubal in April).
On January 12th I experienced what I beleive to be implantation bleeding. Is this possible? It was just pink when I wiped and then a couple of light brown pantiliers. Then I was sick for the next week, really tired, achy, even thought I had a Uti but then felt okay again.
Now here it is my due date for my period. I tested (using Rite Aid brand, but not first morning) and it came out negative. Then a drop of pink on tampon and nothing all day. I just don't know what to think. Should I be worried?

Thought I'd add, I am NEVER late for my period. And though I don't get cramps I do know when it is coming.

It is possible to get pregnant after a tubal -- my cousin is living proof. Her mother had only one working ovary and then after her second child, had her tubes tied. Five years later along came my cousin! Your symptoms warrant a visit with the doctor, whether from pregnancy or not; you should get checked out.

It is possible to get pregnant even after having your tubes tied. That's why they tell you when you get it done that it is only 99.9% effective, they leave room for the possibility. However even though the possibility is still there it is highly unlikely, especially since you have had a pregnancy test and that came back negative. The Rite Aid brand got it right twice for me. I would guess that there is something else but I would strongly suggest that you check with your doctor and have an official test and pap done just to be sure. It is a fact however that even though you have never been late before a woman's cycle will undergo some changes every few years. So you could be right as rain for 7 years straight and then in the 8th year everything would be different. I would visit a doctor.

The ONLY way to be sure you're NOT pregnant (and you should know this) is DON'T DO THE DEED. Unless you're the Virgin Mary.

Seriously, though, you should go get checked. There are so many things that can go wrong gynocologically, that it's not something to put off or speculate about.

From what I've heard, it is possible to get pregnant after a tubal. It is not 100% effective. Neither is vasectomy for that matter. Also, it could be an ectopic pregnancy which is very dangerous. If you don't get your period in a couple of days see your doctor.

You are probably not pregnant after 4 1/2 years. But, there are always weird medical things that happen. My friend had a tubal and the dr. only successfully cut one tube.
Depending on your age, it might be the "change" coming on. Or you might have some other benign condition.
Definitely quit self-medicating and see your Gyno.

It's unlikely but my late cousin's first wife had two children.

It's always a possibility, however, keep in mind that a pregnancy after a tubal ligation could be an ectopic, b/c that's a risk after tubal ligation.

If you do find that you are pregnant, make sure to call your ob/gyn as soon as possible. An ultrasound would be done as soon as it's feasible to make sure that all is well.

Hormonal changes can cause bleeding and changes in your cycle. Several types of uterine changes can further make it hard to tell what is going on. Sooooo a couple of questions: what were the results of your last Pap test and have you had any problems with normal urination?

My best friend had a tubal ligation in 2005...

She already had three kids already and the tubes being tied (clipped and burned) was to stop her from having any more..

Well if all goes well that is, But she was not that lucky..

She had a little girl on January 1, 2008 at 12:15 am.. A mom for the fourth time.. So trust me they can fail..

That is one story that I know to be true.. I say to take a test to know for shure!!
