I read an interesting article saying that many people "whether they want to admit it or not" sometimes wonder |
about their sexual orientation, even if its idle wondering. It's worse for me because I have OCD. I read in this article that its best to view sexual orientation as handedness. left handed or right handed. which is an innate thing. A lefthander can FORCE themselves to write right handed, but this will not change the hard-wiring of their brains, which will compel them to favor the left hand. How accurate is this? Is there a way to look into someones brain and see what handed they are..if so..then what about orientation. I know I'm straight. I only ever got hard ons over girls my whole life, its just my OCD and it'd be nice to see physical proof of it. My OCD makes me think I got AIDS still after getting a negative test result and makes me think I have stomach cancer when I have a stomach ache to..soo I guess I worry myself too much. Also heres another question. thats unrelated, but I heard of a "sense of self" part of the brain, does it reveal who u truly are? whats up with it? Have you seen a doctor about the OCD? There are medications which help. I think OCD must be exhausting. If you haven't, go see a doctor. Life is hard enough without having OCD to deal with. Take whatever help you can get. Have a better life. Good luck. If your question were longer, I might have believed you had OCD. I think that there maybe something to this article. I mean it would explain the old cliche about when girls (usually it's in reference to girls) 'experiment' sexually when they go off to college. I don't wonder,I just accept the fact that sometimes I am attracted to girls sexually never emotionally and men I am always attracted to.(good looking of course).I don't believe its wired in your brain, but more the in the type of society and home you grew up in.Or maybe its both, nature versus nurture. I think that a number of people do question their sexuality- Maybe not hardcore question, but wonder "hmm, what if.." I don't think it's really anything to be worried about. Some might exercise the idea, but it doesn't really amount to much. I can give you a list of 10 girls that I find attractive, but I don't really have the urge to be with them. I think you are looking too deep into this. If you are not wondering about your sexuality, then that's definitely fine. You are content with who you are - at least it seems that way. There are several things to consider when reading an articel, SOURCE - each scientist, Doctor, student, whomever has their own beliefs and their own biases. Yep, you have OCD. |
