Getting better with Atripla? |
My friend has just started taking the above mentioned drug and it has been 1 week! when I saw him he was in full blown aids condition according to the test results, lost alot of weight and extremely weak no muscle mass,serious loss of memory, now I hear he is doing extremley well after seeing him in 1 week, is this possible? I know our visit helped him from his usual mundane daily routine, however I have questions as to the level of recovery. Any advice is greatly appreciated... Ya it does happen pretty quickly like that. though your friend will be on some other meds til his CD4 count is high enough for a 3-6 months. Generally people have the most symptoms when their viral load is huge. Atripla decreases that viral load. But keep up support and restress taking the meds same time everyday. I've heard about this; its an antiviral medication that prevents HIV from reproducing in the body. i imagine if it works then the effects would be as quick as you say they are but i can't imagine your friend would regain muscle mass and weight in one week. no one can re-gain that kind of mass in such a short period of time. of course if your friend is better then just be thankful and keep praying! good luck i wish you all the best! |
