Help!!!ovulation predictor results?

Ok it all started it on the 3..I had a dream that I took a pregnancy test and an ovulation test they both came out positive. so I went to the store and bought a rite aid brand pregnancy test and answers ovulation predictors(dip sticks).I decided to take both they both were negative...on the 4,5,they came out negative but on the 6 at like 5:00-5:50 in the morning and it clearly came out positive the test line was way darker then the control line.but then I took it again at 5:00 in the afternoon and the contol line was ligter then the test line.then I took it again like 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning and I only seen one line! Im confused am I ovulating or not and I had sex 5,6,and today what's my chances of becoming pregnant?

The reason the line got lighter then went away is probably because your LH surge doesn't last that long. You get your surge about 12-36 hours before the egg is released then the high level of LH dissipates. Since you're testing at different times during the day, you may have missed the very beginning (or end) of your surge, which is why the change in the lines looked so drastic to you.

Here are a couple of tips for next time:
1) don't use first morning urine. LH is made early in the day and isn't metabolized until later, therefore it won't show up in your urine until later in the day. (afternoon-ish)
2) test at the same time of day each day.
3) once you get a positive, you don't really have to keep testing.
4) OPK's tell you when you're *probably* ovulating but they cannot guarantee that you did. You could have an LH surge then for some reason, your body may not end up releasing the egg.

If I had to guess, I'd say you probably did ovulate - as you detected a surge - so there's a possibility you could be pregnant, but as I said above, there is no 100% definite answer. Wait a few weeks and take a pregnancy test.

if you use first morning urine with a opk it can give you false positives. some women carrie the lh horemone always so when you wake up it will be more concentrated. if you wait til the afternoon and go 2 hours with out drinking anything before doing the opk it should give you an accurate result. so it was probably negative.

With OPKs, you need to use them between 10am and 2pm, having held your urine for around 4 hours, with no liquid intake for 2 hours...I would guess its that time frame for people who are up earlyish...outside of those times, it won't be very accurate, so taking them in the middle of the night isn't going to give you accurate results if you're up at 8am.

Another thing is, just because 2 lines show up, that doesn't mean it's +...the test line MUST be as dark as or darker than that control line to be +...if the test line isn't as dark as the control, then it is considered negative because there is nearly always going to be some level of hormone picked up...only when you get a SURGE will you get a positive result.

So, if you got your positive in the middle of the day, then it was actually positive.

What is your cervical mucus like? That can be another indicator.

you do not need to test so many times a day.. juz control your fluid intake about 4hrs prior to test.. best time is between 2pm-5pm .. never use morning pee for ovulation test as it is very inaccurate..

Most ovulation kits recommend you test between ten am and ten pm as your hormones rise between the day.

The fact that your took it so late at night may have produced an inaccurate result.

I hope you are off the computure and doing the DEED so that your pregnancy test is positive as I think you are ovulating.
