My cat has/had an Ulcer? VET help please?

First off. My cat is a female, almost 8 months old.

A few months ago i noticed a small bump on her gums, just above her tooth. It felt like an ingrown tooth or something along those line .. it was very hard and the skin wasn't pink, it was more of a whiteish color.

I took her to the vet .. they said it was a small Ulcer.
*They gave her some steroids.
*They pressured me to have her test for feline aids, so on and so on (AGAIN), even though she had already been tested.
*They told me to wait a week then come back.

It went away for a few days, then it came back.
We took her back again.

They gave her some CLAVAMAX (spelling) .. and said try that for a week.

**They kept saying "oh we're not sure what it is, try this, try thatt**
Well, its back and its worst, the bumps are in a different place now
The bumps are on her bottom lip and the whole side of her mouth (left side).

!! ANYONE WORK IN A VET OFFICE .. OR MAYBE YOU'RE A VET. TECHNITION .. KNOW WHAT THIS IS?? !!

I NEED THIS FIXED. THEY ARE JUST MILKING ME OUT OF $200 EVERY OTHER WEEK. *I CANT BE TAKING HER BACK EVERY WEEK AND DROPPING $200...IF THIS WERE ME THEY WOULD OF TOLD ME EXACTLY WHAT IT WAS AND FIXED IT. I NEED TO GET HER ALL FIXED*

Have the vet do a Bartonella test on her. The only lab I know of which does it at the moment is in New Jersey. A small blood sample is mailed to them and they fax the results back. It takes two or three weeks to get the results back.

Bartonella causes chronic mouth, eye, and internal problems including mouth ulcers such as you described.

The good news is that if she is positive for Bartonella, it is curable. Usually it requires two two or three-week courses of a particular antibiotic, and then another blood test to see if the cat responded. If so, that's it. The cure in final -- it won't come back. If the cat has not responded completely, another session of the antibiotic should do it. The test costs about $60 where I work, and each course of antibiotic is $45-$60, defending on the size of the cat.

One of my cats had lost all her teeth to chronic mouth problems before the Bartonella test and treatment was developed. She had a very strong indication of Bartonella and after treatment she is a whole new cat. I think she feels really good for the first time in her life -- I only wish we had been able to treat her much sooner.

If your vet pooh-pooh this information, find another vet who is up to date on his continuing education.

If the cat has Feline Stomatitis, this is a viral infection. Which can reoccur which is why they wanted to retest for FeLv/FIV.

The best thing that the Drs at my hospital have found that works is Clindamycin. An antibiotic that works well for oral infections. Some of our cats are on it on a regular basis.

all cats eat spiders sometimes even kittens eat spiders but make shure she dosent if it becomes a habbit she will eat any spider even if its poisoines proabily.

I would try calling a different vet in your area and tell them the situation and ask for a second opinion. Some vets are more experienced with certain illnesses than others. Also, google it. Go to ask the vet and you get several opinions from different vets. Do you have any of these plants in your house. The list is very long for toxic plants.
