What are those tests called when you apply for a job at a chain store (ie rite aid)?

I heard that some ppl have to take a personality or "common sense" test when they apply to blockbuster, rite aid, cvs, and other similar places. What are those tests? I heard that some people fail these tests even though they are easy. I'm curious to know. Is there a website where I can learn more about it?

These are assessment-type tests. You cannot really "fail" them, but many employers use them to match needed skills to applicants. Obviously they would not want to put someone who can't make 2 + 2 = 4 on a register for 8 hours a day, or put someone with poor reasoning skills in a managerial position.

really what they are looking for in these tests is ~ will you be a good match for the position they are trying to fill.

Like an aptitude test? Those evaluate your abilities.

Some places have basic skill set tests, too.

They are psychological examinations, they usually test you morals and ethics. (Do you want a thief working for you?)

They are just basic skills tests. We have them where I work too!
