I have a question about a plot line in the musical "RENT" ?

In the song "One Song Glory", Roger says "before the disease takes over." In the movie durring this song it shows him and his girlfriend who died. It shows them doing drugs with needles. And then it shows them looking at a piece of paper, that I asume are test results detecting AIDS. But I was never sure if it was Roger who had AIDS or his girlfriend. Or maybe both of them?

Cuz she killed herself, so either she did it cuz she was sick or cuz he was or them both.

And then later he goes to that meeting for people that have AIDS. And then that song "I should Tell you" it seems like he wants to tell Mimi he has AIDS. BUt I don't know.

So anyway my question is:
Does Roger have AIDS or did his girlfriend?
And,was it like obvious which one had AIDS or was it just like up for interpretation?

Ohhh I havn't seen the musical yet just the movie. What parts of the movie does his beeper go off?

You missed the part in the play and the movie where the beepers go off and they both go "AZT break". AZT is a prescription for AIDS patients. Yes, both Roger and his girlfriend had the AIDS virus.

You really should see the play sometime if the troupe comes to your town. Its more powerful in person than on the movie.

Both Roger and his girlfriend who died had AIDS.
