How Do I Find Out If I Have AIDS?

I do i gett tested without my parents knowing?

go to your nearest Planned Parenthood/ Family Planning clinic. They can give you one for free, and its confidential

go to doctor

get tested... your parents won't know

Yes you can, I'm a nurse walk in to the clinic or schedule an appointment. These days kids have a right to privacy

Look for a public clinic in your area or if you are a university student go to the on campus health center. AIDS test results are confidential and can be done anonymously. You can be given an id number instead of using your name.

Go to your doctor or local health clinic and get tested. Everything is confidential. Last I heard the incubation period was up to six months. This may have changed.

your health care provider can screen you for the presence of HIV genetic material. Direct screening of HIV is extremely critical in order to prevent transmission of HIV from recently infected individuals.
If you have been exposed to the virus, you should get an HIV test as soon as you are likely to develop antibodies to the virus-within 6 weeks to 12 months after possible exposure to the virus. By getting tested early, if infected, you can discuss with your health care provider when you should start treatment to help your immune system combat HIV and help prevent the emergence of certain opportunistic infections (see section on treatment below). Early testing also alerts you to avoid high-risk behaviors that could spread the virus to others.

Most health care providers can do HIV testing and will usually offer you counseling at the same time. Of course, you can be tested anonymously at many sites if you are concerned about confidentiality.

Health care providers diagnose HIV infection by using two different types of antibody tests: ELISA and Western Blot. If you are highly likely to be infected with HIV but have been tested negative for both tests, your health care provider may request additional tests. You also may be told to repeat antibody testing at a later date, when antibodies to HIV are more likely to have developed.

Babies born to mothers infected with HIV may or may not be infected with the virus, but all carry their mothers' antibodies to HIV for several months. If these babies lack symptoms, a doctor cannot make a definitive diagnosis of HIV infection using standard antibody. Health care providers are using new technologies to detect HIV to more accurately determine HIV infection in infants between ages 3 months and 15 months. They are evaluating a number of blood tests to determine which ones are best for diagnosing HIV infection in babies younger than 3 months.

well i would no but i think if ur not over 18 u cant get tested with out ur parents sig. but wat would i no IM SO STUPID;(

Call your local health department. Most of them have testing and are equipped to handle AIDS patients. When you call them ask them if they require your parents to be there or if they tell the parents. If they say yes then I urge you to look up AIDS on the Internet as there are several foundations out there and I am sure someone can help you.

Please do not wait even if it means telling your parents. I wish you good health and courage. I am praying for you.

There are many good responces to your question already. But if your shy you can go to a drug store where your not known and ask the pharmisist for a [new to the market] self test kit .that way only you will know the results. good luck.If your test is positive there are things you can take that in lab.test have killed h.i.v. look into organic mushrooms.[myityki]

drug stores have home AIDS tests. About 40-50 bucks. Do it, mail it, call up in like two or three days and get your answer.
Then stop doing whatever it is that makes you think you have AIDS.
