Can a weird period cause infertility?

really heavy and lasting from anywhere from 7 to 35 days.
had following tests done:
chlamydia
gonnoreah
pap smear
thyroids
pregnancy
iron test
(boyfriend had following tests)
AIDS
HIVS

all came back normal or negative.
i was put on microgestin, but i took myself off cause i had 2.5 week period while on it.
but now im on levora. this last period (for dec) was lighter. but july thru november was long and heavy
the prds lasted 35 days, 2.5 wks, 2 seven day prds, but extremely heavy soaking both pad and tampon in less than 2 or 3 hours

Well to answer your main question, I wouldn't say infertility, but fertility problems. I have no periods for up to a year at a time. For my first pregnancy - I did have to take Clomid, a fertility drug to conceive. Now I am still having irregular periods and conceived on my own after a year and a half. As far as your situation with the excessive periods - sounds like something is going on with your hormones or some type of a condition. I feel for you - sounds miserable to me. I would say just work through it and if you are very concerned about starting a family maybe your doctor will consider a prescription drug to help identify when you are going to ovulate. Ask your Gynecologist about endometriosis and/or adenomyosis. They can only be diagnosed through a laparoscopic surgery.

If they brush you off and say, oh it's not that, go for a second opinion. Track your periods, the amount of pain, and any other symptoms you think may be related. I also have painful bowel movements, urgency to urinate, painful intercourse...any of those can be symptoms.
