How can anyone top Oprah in Africa? |
Madonna and Angelina - adopting only 1 kid... but Oprah - a school AND taking an aids test with them...priceless. Gestures are all that they are. Poverty in Africa or in America can't be solved with gestures. Hollywood "do gooderism" is motivated by more that an altruistic desires, they crave publicity and recognition for their acts of benevolence. Bono is one of the best examples of this. Somehow making the lives of poor Americans doesn't play as well bringing salvation to aboriginals in a foreign land. She has already done more good in her own country than you and all the other conservowackos combined. I totally agree with you... Thumbs up! Bill and Melinda Gates it's in your corner. oprah should move to africa and take an aids test once a week Bill and Melinda built ans staffed over 200 schools in Polynesia Bono rocks in this regard too . I will pray for you Oprah is an excellent example of a true philanthropist...more people should be like her. You don't have to be rich though to give back to a community, every little bit helps. It is hard to see people that suffer as much as the people of Africa . The safe or help the children Christian foundation or something like that has gone to light skinned kids in the adds with fewer flies on them in order for people to watch and possibly contribute . I applaud what she did but I for one am tired of Oprah.She cannot do a good deed without taking out a full page ad to let everyone know what a great thing she has done.Enough already!!The true heroes in life do not need to be praised and worshipped by the masses for their good deeds. I'm just waiting to inherit bill gates money so that I can adopt you and make you a millionaire and make a school for you at the same time I liked what she said about why the school is in Africa and not the US. Hollywood actors and actresses think they get more recognition by going overseas. Oprah is discriminatig against White children and should be required to bus them in from another area!! i agree. when do i get my new car from oprah, the capitalist pretending to be liberal to fuel "her" economy. talk about hypocrisy. So you admit in your round-about way that Bush and the republicans' No Child's Behind Left Unmolested program is yet another Bush failure......Good for you. You are finally coming around to see reality, though you are still struggling hard against it. REALLY LOVELY PERSON, HOW DARE OPRAH SPEND HER OWN MONEY MAKING THE POOREST OF THE POOR A LITTLE HAPPIER. THAT IS A SIN OF SINS! How about you, go to Baghdad Airfield and serve your country ? |
