The orgin of AIDS ?

Do you believe that the AIDS virus was produced by scientists working in the Congo on polio vaccines in the 1940s-1950s,where they used chimpanzee kidneys to produce tissue cultures for the experimental polio vaccine that they tested on over a million young children and adults ?

First off, the chimpanzee kidney cell hypothesis would only explain the rapid spread of the virus, but not the origin of the virus. We know that HIV arose by a natural process of recombination of two already existing strains of SIV.

Given that we know that HIV spreads easily and directly blood to blood, there's no need to hypothesise a more tortuous route that contradicts much of what we know about HIV's origins and the virus's behaviour. HIV almost certainly jumped species from chimps to humans by direct blood contact.

There are at least two clear pieces of evidence against the polio vaccine production hypothesis, though. First, SIV and HIV cannot be cultured in kidney cells. Secondly, the strains of SIV present in the chimp population from whence the kidney cells were derived are different from the strains which gave rise to HIV.

I'm not sure the virus was created by scientists doing vaccine research with this monkey-- I figured it was some 'lonesome' native that had sex with a Green Monkey that started it.

What is all this talk of having sex with monkeys? The reason animal viruses get passed to humans is becasue the virus mutates. That's why there is a big fear of Avian (brid) flu becoming passed to humans, not becasue someone in Asia might have sex with chickens. Please tell me no one seriously thinks that.

When it comes to sexually transmitted disease, they come about because of man's perverse actions towards sex.

Aids being a sexually transmitted disease is a punishment from God for perverted acts. Many believe it is the homosexual disease and with good reason since it first appeared within the homosexual community in this country.

No. The timing is iffy at best.. Smallpox eradication may well have unleashed AIDS, as a smallpox outbreaks would tend to be take early HIV-infected individuals out of the population. With smallpox gone, the AIDS virus could flourish.
