Should I take another test?

I took a pregnancy test and the control line didn't show but the other line did as a negative result, so what does that mean? It was a generic test from Rite-Aid.

You will never get a false positive. It is not possible. Pregnant women manufacture a hormone found only in pregnant women.

To be negative, the control line must show. If a second line appeared along with the test line, it's a positive. If there is no control line, the test is defective & you need to take another. SO yes, you need to take another test.

If there was no control line then the test is faulty. Get a brand name test and take it tomorrow with the first morning urine.

This happened to me all three times I've been pregnant. I drink a lot of water so my urine was often diluted and the test couldn't quite pick up what it needed to.

My doc said to pee in a cup and dip the test in, which will almost always yield a conclusive result either neg. or pos.

You can go to WalMart and buy two digital tests for just under $10. These are very accurate and unlikely to mess up. I think they are from Clear Blue, but I could be wrong about that.

I would suggest taking another test. I'm currently wondering if I'm pregnant, I have many symptoms, but I'm also on birth control and could be caused by that. I bought a generic test for tomorrow after reading about tests and results. More pricey ones can be unreliable, too.
