Can HPV be detected with a blood test for life insurance? |
I am having a blood test done tomorrow and they will test for HIV and AIDS and antibody and antigen. It's being done by Allstate insurance the thing is I think i might have HPV but I havent told my parents. Will there test reveal that? You should not have a problem at all. HPV is not tested through the blood. It is also not one of the diseases that they are worried about for life insurance screenings. Typically what they look for are those conditions which lower your life span. They obviously don't want to give you this huge life insurance policy when you'll be dead in 10 or 30 years and no longer paying the premiums for the ins. They would lose money for this. That is why they look for main things like history of heart disease, high blood pressure, AIDS, and Hepatitis. This is not all of the conditions they look for for life insurance eligibility, but these are the big ones because for all of them there is a direct link between it and death (AIDS obviously has no cure therefore you die, etc...) For HPV, they know a particular strain has been shown to cause a higher incidence of cervical cancer, however cervical cancer is very curable and the actual direct relationship between cervical cancer and HPV is as of yet unknown. So.... no, they won't test you for it. If they were to test you for it, they could not release the results of that back to your parents anyway. I believe I am correct in saying that they can tell your parents that you were denied, but they would only release specific reasons to your parents. I really don't think this will be the case. You should be fine, but you definitely should be treated for the HPV. You don't want to leave that go without treating it because it can turn realugly real quick. I have seen girls with warts that have grown into their uterus and they have had to have the uterus surgically removed. It's overal not a thing to play around with. Good luck with you insurance coverage!!!! HPV is usually detected through a pap and other biopsies or if you have the strain that causes warts that detected visually. I have the strain that causes cervical cancer. usually when they run a blood test they only look for the things they took the blood for. I am not positive but I would have to say no. |
