I had the aids and stds tests?

2 years after i had sex with a man.and the tests came negative. the doctor at the gyn clinic said that i dont need to do it again. is he right?its been 5 years now since i went with that man and i didnt have sex with anyone else. was the doc right?

If you haven't had sex there certainly isn't a need for an STD check-up. For your own peace of mind you could get re-tested for the HIV virus, however by now you would have known. Symptoms for HIV are flu-like and it only gets worse. I wish you the best.

It is very unlikely that HIV virus will be dormant with such an undetectable low viral count after two years.
But I once read that medics exposed accidentally to HIV get tested periodically for few years.
Go get another test and close the case!

are you trying to get on birth control? For certain contraceptives you have to have a clean STD test before they can give it to you ex the IUD but you should just do it anyways its always good to be in the clear

Have you continued to have sex with that man? If you have I would say yes, many girls wont get checked out once in a relationship becasue the truely believe there partner is faithfull. Unfortunately the reality is many partners will cheat, look at the statistics! So its good to get checked every few years. If you havent been sexually active what so ever since the last time you got checked there should be no need but it doesnt hurt to do it again!

well any one who is sexual active should get test for STD every 6 months but in your case you said that you haven't been active so i don't see a need to do it again.
