What stds can be found by blood tests besides aids?

I think that syphilis is the other std that can be detected by using a blood test. The organism that causes syphilis causes the formation of antibodies that circulate in the bloodstream and can be detected by a test using blood (the VDRL is one example of a test for syphilis using blood). Herpes can also be diagnosed by a blood test for antibodies.

Aids is detected as HIV. Several other STD's can be tested from blood specimens, but some are more easily diagnosed from smears. See the article below:
