What is the cheapest method for testing for aids? and has this been introduced into Africa?

There is no test for AIDS as such. There is a simple test for HIV though. It takes about 30 minutes in a fairly simple lab.

African countries can and do test for HIV. However, folklore/culture tends to get in the way. People are persuaded to visit witchdoctors etc when they are suffering HIV. The witchdoctors have weird and often very dangerous 'solutions' - none of which work.

(This is true - I'm not making a joke about it!!!)

getting an AIDS test is free. I'm sure they know this in Africa, but knowing that you may have been exposed to the disease is what makes it hard for a person to go get an AIDS test, because some people don't want to know. In any country.

Its free in the UK, in Africa you can get tested but am not sure if they charge you. I would think it is free because there is a big problem there with aids.
