you can simply go to your doctor and request and HIV test, or if you want to do it without him knowing, go to your local health clinic and get a STD screen. it is relatively cheap and the results are mailed to you fairly quickly

Go to a doctor, ask for a test. They'll draw blood and get the results in a week or so. They'll call you if you're positive. No news is good news.
