Can you get AIDS from someone who has tested negative? |
I understand that AIDs can only be accurately tested after 6 months, although some as early as 25 days after infection. If the infection level is too low to be detected, can it still be spread as easily during the first few months? Yes, actually HIV is easier to contract if the person is newly infected and viral loads are high. Thus, the person with HIV may test negative because they have not built up enough antibodies, yet their viral load of the HIV virus is high. no,it cant be detected, because it hasnt effected anything yet Yes, it can be spread. Sperm donors are tested 6 months after their donations. yes it can spread although not be detected Yes you can get so long as the partner is positive. Just dont risk. Yes HIV which causes AIDS is detected through the presence of anti-bodies which have been produced by our immune system after the HIV and entered our body. The time taken for sufficient number of anti-bodies produced in our body to be detected by either ELISA or by Western Blot method is a bit late say 6 weeks to 24 weeks and in mean time the person is still a carrier of the deadly HIV and when unprotected sex take place with this person the partner would mostly contact the virus. well first of all, you dont get AIDS, you get HIV which eventually leads to AIDS. AIDS is the condition, HIV is the infection. I don't know the answer to your question, but the best way to avoid contracting AIDS or any other STD's is to always practice safe sex. Don't ever have unprotected sex with anyone unless you're in a monogamous relationship and only after you've both been tested. YES! Yes--it can definitely be spread as easily the first few months. You can still get infected if their test is negative when in fact they are positive and it just has not shown up yet. Always be careful. |
