Could i be tested for AIDS without going to a health department?

Anywhere you go--even at a "clinic"--has to report the positive tests to the health department. I wouldn't rely on the results of an at home test. Just go to the doc, or clinic, get it done. You'll feel better.

I don't know of any at-home testing, but you could get tested at a clinic like Planned Parenthood, where they often provide discounted STD testing, which is private and safe.

You can find a AIDS service organization that does HIV testing. Most large cities have them. Check you yellow pages, local gay newspapers (They always have good ads for testing)

The more than likely do a rapid test where you will have your results in 20 mins.

there are some at home tests but I wouldnt count those as accurate. So many people get tested for HIV (not AIDS) at local clinics and agencies that you shouldnt feel embarrassed at all. Its scary as hell! But once you know, you know... if you do get tested and it comes back positive, your results go to the county health dept but your name does not. There should be some free clinics, etc., in your area that do confidential, rapid, etc., HIV tests for free. Good luck!

yes go to ur local drugstore such as walgreens, cvs and u can buy an hiv test and test urself at home...its pretty expensive but spend the money if ur worried about ur health! its worth it!!!
