Why do you need a blood test before you get married and was it for the same reasons as 10 yrs ago???

I got married 10 years ago! Was the blood test then different from now? I believe they now test for Aids did they also test for that 10 yrs ago???

1. Rhesus factor incompatibility.
2. STD's.

I don't know but they don't require a blood test anymore where I live before getting married.

Not all states require a blood test. I just got married in Idaho and all you need is a drivers liscense and 75 bucks. The reason the blood tests is to make sure neither party has a communicable disease.

Wow! I never had to take one! I guess it depends on where you live!

A looong time ago they required blood tests to make sure both blood types were compatible for reproducing so you didn't give birth to children that were "imperfect".
