Should the government force people to get tested for aids?

with the high new infection rates and high price of arvs don't you think the government should take a stand and force people to get tested for aids that way they can deal with the problem head on not only alqaueda is killing people annd those who know the pain of looosin someone to tihe disease can empathise

no - i think it is an invasion of privacy.

No. This isn't a communist country.

although it would require a suspension of human and legal (constitutional ) rights, i do agree . the sooner a desease is curtailed and or trated or ended by extraordinary means. the good of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one.

Almost certainly. It's irresponsible and ignorant to not be tested and checked if there is any risk what so ever.

Unfortunately these days people do need to be forced, otherwise there is a huge lethargy.

Will the government pick up the tab or give a tax break on it?

yes, vcause goverment is responsible of health of all.and it is duty of states to save the health of society from the individual.if state cannot test individual due to personal right then why the state put society into danger?.

I'm ambivalent on this type of thing.

From a practical stance, it would be a good idea and could wipe the disease from the face of the earth within a few generations. But from a moral standpoint, it's a severe invasion of privacy and freedom. It also gets in the way of natural selection.

The government also has this habit of taking something good and messing it up. If they were to start forcing people to get tested and treated, etc., what would be keeping them from publishing the name of everyone infected? What would keep them from stamping "I have AIDS" on someone's forehead? Oh, sure, it would keep more people from getting this dread disease, but what of the people suffering from it already? Isn't it bad enough that they have a highly stigmatized disease that destroys their immune system? But if this were to happen, they'd be killed in the streets! How would you feel if that happened to someone you love?

The bottom line is that the less the government is involved, the better. A person's health is his/her decision. Some people choose not to make that decision. They end up paying a price. Some, like those who do not get tested for AIDS, end up paying the ultimate price.

They don't care about us. Here's the PROOF!...
