Aids and Pornography?

Does anyone know what is the stats on people that perform pornography and the probability that they could get AIDS? I know someone who just got into the business and he has to take an AIDS test once a month and he even gets taxes taken out of this paycheck, so I think its one of those more legitimate places. For the record, I do not agree with his decision. But I do care about him and want to know about this. Thanks to all who answer.

It's not common in the United States but VERY common in other countries like Brazil. When there was a case of AIDS in Hollywood porn a little over a year ago, the whole industry shut down just to make sure they had control of everything. I'd say that your chances are pretty small compared to regular casual sex.

Since they get tested quite often, perhaps the statistics are lower than we think. However, their job puts them in contact with an awful lot of partners so, that would raise the chances. I know at one time there was a big push to use condoms while filming porno, but, I guess it just didn't sell that well. Too bad your friend can't choose another profession . I am sure he has other talents. Has he ever seen the movie Boogie Nights? Watch it with him.

If his company tests him once a month then that means the people hes "performing" with are getting tested too so his chances are pretty low of getting it thru somebody at work.
