Sorry for semantics but it tests for the HIV virus not AIDS.

HIV is the virus and if untreated it can develop into AIDS.

The testing you get in a drug store is to easy to give a false answer and there are to many things that can go wrong with the testing. Find a STD clinic, a AIDS organization that does free testing. Why spend a lot of money that might not give you a real answer. The people that do testing are sworn to confidentiality.
