AIDS patients are typically prescribed a drug cocktail. What are these drugs called (names for them) and what are the two main viral activities that these drugs are designed to counteract?

The cocktail itself is called HAART, or Highly Active AntiRetroviral Therapy. There are 3 drugs in it, two "protease inhibitors" and one "antiretroviral" drug. The protease inhibitor stops the HIV from degrading the proteins of the cell it is in. See, it degrades the cell protein, inserts it's own protein, and then the cell makes HIV viruses instead of new cells. The next is the antiretroviral drug, which does the same thing. HIV is calle a "retrovirus" because it takes apart cellular DNA and uses it to it's own advantage, like described above. Both drugs keep patients alive for longer and happier periods of time.
