Do they test for aids in the blood they take be4 u have surgery??????? |
let me kno IM NOT WORRY BOUT IF I HAVE IT...I JUS WANNA KNO IF THEY DI JUS IN CASE No, they do not. I was under the impression that they couldn't test the blood without your consent. They don't. HIV testing needs a special consent and doctors and nurses should be equally as careful in all surgeries to prevent getting infections from patients. The only way they would test you is if a healthcare worker was accidentally exposed to your body fluids (needle stick, blood in eyes...). Even then they would ask you for a special consent. yes all blood is tested before it is used in surgary due to not wanting to give some one a disease and then being sued for not being careful; No they don't. A doctor always has to have your consent in order to give an hiv test. Yes, they do! If its already detected then it will be in your medical file. No they don't I AM A NURSE PRACTITIONER AND THE ANSWER IS NO! LEGALLY YOU CANNOT BE TESTED FOR HIV/AIDS WITHOUT SIGNING A CONSENT FORM . THEY MAY OR MAY NOT ASK YOU TO DO THIS PRIOR TO SURGERY. THE ONLY EXCEPTION IS IF YOU DONATE BLOOD- BLOOD BANKS ARE REQUIRED TO TEST BLOOD FOR HIV/AIDS AND WHEN YOU DONATE BLOOD YOU ARE CONSENTING TO THIS. I THINK THE WRITER WAS ASKING ABOUT IF THEY TEST IT IN ROUTINE LABS AND UNLESS YOU ARE DONATING BLOOD TO GO TO SOMEONE ELSE, THEY CANNOT LEGALLY TEST YOU FOR HIV/AIDS WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT. |
