Can a doctor find out if you have aids from a blood typing test?

I am afraid I have aids because of mistakes I have made in my life but I dont want my mom to know and she is getting my blood typed....can they find out from that test?

no, they will only find out your blood type. but, if you think you may have aids due to a risky sexual lifestyle, or one that involved sharing drug needles, then you owe it to yourself, your family and any future lovers to find out. Request the doctor test you for HIV, he cannot tell anyone, including your parents unless you give written consent to do so.

no

Edited...read it wrong...no not for blood type

hmm, im not sure about this one, but just to be on the safe side, you could maybe try avoid getting your blood tested

No, you would need to have an HIV test done, which is seperate. If you think you may be positive you should get one done ASAP. You should for your own piece of mind really.

You should know just for you. Go to Planned Parenthood or any anonymous testing center and have it done for free.

ONLY if they DO an aids test...

They can't find something that they AREN'T looking for ;);););)

im not exactly sure but im sure google can help you ask thatquestion maybe check there for help im not sure if anyone can help really or if you can go the doctor your self and ask him

How old are you?they cant disclose anything to mom.Normally you will have some other signs also.
But,when they do your blood type i think the specific test itsself has to be run but.they do normally do it with it.
They can only disclose it to you if you are over 18.
Its illegal for them to tell mom!!!

It is a different test. They could take one large blood sample and use it for both tests, but would not do so automatically.

You can get tested for AIDS anonymously without your mom knowing. If you do have a way to ask your doctor privately, ask at Planned Parenthood or the local health department.

they will test for AID only if you permit them. Any ways now is not the time that you be afraid of your mom. Please act responsible, do the test and be safe.

No, testing for the HIV virus (that causes AIDS) usually requires a test known as ELISA (enzyme linked immunosorbant assay). This is only done if one is specifically asking for an HIV test.

You would only be able to find out if the blood test was to check for HIV antibodies. You dont say what your mum is having your blood tested for. If you are concerned about your HIV status you should get a test to put your mind at rest.

Yes they most definatly can and i dont see any way that they couldnt. AIDS is a blood related disease. On another note, maybe a better one for you, most STDs require extensive testing.

if you have any kind of illness it will turn up in a blood test and PEACE and good luck to you. unfortunately, if your a minor your mom has the right to have you checked, but you still might want to get on the horn with the aclu. this is a gray area. if you have the test and find out you do have it at least you can get started on the treatment and fight for as much of your life as you can get.

not from blood testing you need HIV test and it takes years for herpes to turn into Aids.

First of all information between a doctor and a patient is confidential so the results should come to you.

Secondly it depends what the test is for. Normally labs only make specific tests based on the doctor's instructions. If he hasn't asked for an AIDS test they won't do one.

If. however, you think you are infected seek professional help immediately. Talk to your doctor about your concerns. If you do have it, and God forbid you do, then what your Mom knows doesn't matter, but the treatment does. If she's loving and caring she will understand and support you. Good luck and best wishes. If you turn out to be tested negative, and i hope you do, make sure you keep away from the previous bad influences and things that can cause AIDS.

Only if it is requested. If you are underage your parent can have it ordered and get the answer.
Now you can go to a free clinic and have it done without parental permission. Of course it still depends on where you live.

No. Why is she getting it blood typed? She would have received that info when you were born. AIDS or HIV tests aren't cheap. The flip side is, if you suspect you do or don't have AIDS, wise up- the SOONER you get tested, the SOONER you will have peace of mind or will be able to get treated for it.

It's better that she finds out you have had unprotected sex now, rather than visiting you in a Hospice on a death bed.

no, you must go to a aids testing center.
Every city has a free clinc to be tested for aids.

No, the presence of HIV or AIDS cannot be confirmed from a test to check your blood type.
When testing for HIV/AIDS, two tests are performed. The first test is called the ELISA test, which detects the presence of antibodies to fight the HIV virus. If the ELISA test is positive (meaning that there are antibodies for HIV present), it will be done again to confirm and prevent a false-positive result. If the second ELISA test is positive as well, another test called the Western Blot will be done. This test is more difficult than the ELISA, but it is done to detect HIV proteins that may not be detected by the ELISA. There are also 2 others tests: The PCR, which is not done as often as it requires more expensive equipment, and the IFA, which, like the Western Blot, is used to confirm the first 2 results of the ELISA test.
Those are the only tests which, in the correct combination, can confirm the presence or absence of HIV.
If you suspect that you may be infected with HIV, you need to consult a healthcare professional immediately. If you're over a certain age, your parents will not know.

I'm not sure but i think they only find what your doctor tells them to test for. i believe the aids test is a specific test.
if you think you may have aids your life is in jeopardy the longer you wait to have that test done the worse off you'll be.
look in the phone book for any aids organization and see if they can help you get tested. i'm sure somewhere out the someone can give you this information.
good luck.

ONLY IF THATS WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR TO BEGIN WITH. IF YOUR OF AGE THEY AREN'T ALLOWED TO GIVE OUT THAT INFORMATION TO ANYONE OTHER THAN YOU, ITS AGAINST THE LAW & YOU COULD SUE THE PANTS OFF YOUR DOCTOR. IF YOUR A MINOR SHE CAN REQUEST THAT THEY CHECK FOR IT AND THE DOCTOR WILL TELL YOU TOGETHER & IF YOU ARE A MINOR ITS THEIR DUTY TO INFORM YOUR MOM DUE TO YOUR AGE.

No. The test for HIV is specific only for that condition. You cannot tell a person's HIV states from a routine blood-typing. And, look, if you think you might be HIV+ then it's essential that you get tested so that treatment can begin without delay. You don't want to be walking around with this condition which can easily progress to full-blown AIDS without treatment. The complications of AIDS cause much misery and suffering and could cause a very unpleasant death. Take care of your health.

No, you must be specifically tested for HIV antibodies 3-6 months following your last potential exposure. No other blood test will detect the virus. You can be tested confidentially and freely at many clinics if you do not want your Mom to find out.

Definitely not; blood typing detects only your blood type {A, B, AB, or O}; and your Rh factor {Negative or Positive}. But, if as you say, you suspect that you might have HIV/AIDS, you can get tested/treated without parental knowledge or consent at any Planned Parenthood clinic for free [go to their link to find the clinic nearest to you -just type your zip code- at <www.plannedparenthood.org>]. The Law allows for minors to receive STD testing/treatment, contraception, termination of a pregnancy, or treatment for substance use/abuse WITHOUT PARENTAL CONSENT OR KNOWLEDGE. The facility can't disclose ANY KIND OF INFORMATION on your medical records [not even to your parents], unless you give them written consent to do so. IT'S THE LAW; MAKE GOOD USE OF THE PRIVILEGES YOU ARE GRANTED BY IT.

Not it they don't use the same specimen and order the HIV test from it. Blood typing is done in a blood bank in the lab and HIV gets done in another area, but if they have the specimen or an extra tube it can be ordered. Highly unlikely that your MD will tell them to draw extra for a blood typing, tho.

Nope a doctor cannot do an HIV test without your permission and consent so they cannot tell from a blood typing test.

If you are on your Mom's insurance go to Planned Parenthood they offer cheap testing. BTW if you have HIV you Mom is going to find out, so get tested and be safe. The sooner you catch the disease if you do have it, the longer you will live!
