I ask my Dr 3 weeks ago if i need to get a Aids test done she said i don't think you have Aids? |
anyways can a normal blood test tells if you have Aids or you have too ask for it or if she was worried she wood have me tested. Well you have to ask for it so the doctor so they know what they're looking for in your test. It has to be a special test for Aids you need a different doctor if she is just telling you she doesn't "THINK" you have aids. and yes you need to ask specificly for the test. this dr is not good, get another one. my doctors here don't do that. with best regard. the doctor cant assume you dont have it so get the test evryone should get tested every month if possible definitly if your sexually active Doctors usually have the medical assistant screen you (question you) to detect habits which might precipitate need for an HIV test. Um, if they think you have a lifestyle to worry about it. But if you didn't tell the medical assistant the truth, you'd better tell the doctor...why you think you need to get it.... Otherwise, don't worry about it. You can only get it certain ways. They can tell but are not 100% accurate. If you don't mind me asking, why are you being tested? When I was tested, it was as normal as the other 18 times they drew my blood that year. The Dr obviously isn't worried but if you want the yest get it done, get the proper test. no they will not know unless they are testing for it. why dose your dr think you do not have aids. i would not get all worried about it. there is probely a free clinic around you that you could go to and they will test it for you look as a studying nurse i would tell that doctor that aids at the beginning doesn't "look" like anything...but you can find out just by going into a ...any test.... place and have it done privately...I'm not saying that you do but, if you are worried then get checked it is not anything to risk.... good luck if you have anymore questions just e-mail me.... It's a separate test. You gotta ask for the test, standard HIV test is called ELISA. That test takes about a week or so to get the results back. They also have rapid tests where you get the results in 30 mins to an hour. For that they either swab your gums and prick your finger. By the way, when you get the test, they test for HIV, not AIDS. Once a person has been tested positive for HIV do you then get regular blood tests (well one should, seeing that they should be going to a doctor regularly), that check for viral loads, cd4 counts etc. Once the cd4 count drops below a certain number is it then considered AIDS- your immune system is pretty much shot. If you feel that you have been exposed to HIV go to a clinic where they offer counseling and many places offer the tests' for free. Best wishes =0) Go to a health clinic, they can give you a private, confidential test that will let you know. If you're worried, get it done, and get it done now. Also, if your doctor isn't taking you seriously, then perhaps it's time to find a new one. Best Wishes - take care. |
