Has anyone taken an AIDS test?

I have had some situations in my life that makes me feel like I need an AIDS test. How scary is it because I kept chickening out.

If you've done something that puts you at risk, then it's scarier NOT knowing. Won't you be relieved when it comes back normal? I took one at a clinic years ago after being raped, and I've also taken the kind that you can buy in the drugstore (ask the pharmacist). You just prick your finger and mail off the blood sample to the company. You later call and give your code number (it's all anonymous).

It is not scary at all, unless you make it scary. Trust me, in the end, knowing is better then wondering and worrying about it all them time. Take it and get it over with. :-) You will be happy you did.

you go in and give blood and it gets sent off. worrying about it and not taking proper procedures to ensure your life will be miserable. just go to a planned parenthood and get it taken care of.

it isn't scary at all...and everyone needs to get one sometime in thgre lkife..I have had several..they have the swab test know that only takes 30 min for the resault..don't be scared ok it is a painless test the waiting is the hardest..but you will be ok

well my fiancee does regular aids test and its more scary then it looks.
I have not done one yet but i guess the waiting is the worst part.
On other hand there are other stuff people neglect which are also dangerous such as hepatitis b which is vaccinateable.
I have to test my serum level each time for work reasons.
First time i tested i was scared to hell because it would affect my whole future so guessing AIDS can be scary during the wait.
but when its over the relief is so great that it outweighs all

Yeah, back in the 80s the military started testing the troops.

They simply took a vial of blood and sent it off for testing.

We went around joking about how that was one test we really wanted to FAIL.
