Buprenorphine is 'approved' for use in Canada, but is "not yet available".? |
Drug addiction is a serious problem, and the only current approved method to aid the addict is methadone. Methadone keeps the addict in a "drug-addicted" state because the addict still has to visit a pharmacy daily for a "fix." Buprenorphine has brought treatment into the 21st century, yet it is "not available" for use yet, even though it was "approved" for use about a year ago. WHEN will it be available, and with everyone across the country looking for solutions to the drug addiction problem, WHY has it not been "fast-tracked"??? That's a good question. I have never heard of it. Maybe the FDA has a website you could go to or try webmd. Maybe you can post this question on their websites. Bupe will be avaliable in November2006, I belong to a great website message board with info on both tx's. its called a.t.watchdog.org there's U.S and Canadian boards with knowlegable people . check it out and registar.
